Too Risqué?

How can I sum up the Julien Macdonald A/W17 ready-to-wear show?

Stunning intricate pieces with a splash of 70’s glamour and a pinch of vulgarity but somehow it all works.

My 3 favourite looks from the collection…

What’s this ‘Too Risqué’ (maybe on the verge of tacky) business all about?

Just dreamy

The Alexander McQueen show took my breath away. This stunning, unique collection was based on an ethereal night-time creature who drifts between dream and reality – This is a concept I can completely relate to, it’s basically my childhood fantasy come to life in a elegant and grown up way. The collection embodies romance in its purest form.

My favourite pieces…

Fo’ Shawl

Thanks to London Fashion Weekend I discovered new designer HAYLEY MENZIES. She creates beautiful fur and feather trim shawls, deconstructing classic styles to produce effortlessly luxe and chic collections.

Hayley Menzies works with reclaimed furs and natural fabrics sourced from vintage clothing –

London Fashion Weekend – The Outnet

London Fashion Weekend @Somerset House is fantastic place to find unique pieces and spot key trends. We went to the Outnet catwalk show and these are the SS15 trends to look out for (according to the Outnet that is)…

  • HYPER FLORALS – As Meryl said ”Florals for sping? Ground breaking”
  • SHIMMER & SHINE METALLICS – This is usually a winter look, soft metallics will look amazing when the weather warms up
  • MONOCHROME – I swear this is a key trend every season!
  • 70’S – so hot right now

My favourite piece from the catwalk was this silver metallic floor length skirt

Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2015-16

The 70’s revival continues…

At first glance the new Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2015 collection did not impress me as much as I was hoping. As I started to examine the individual pieces, I completely fell in love with the unusual and unique looks they have created for next season. These are the things that inspired me most…

  • Stunning suede and fringe detail on coats, bags and skirts
  • Demure thigh boots that ooze luxury
  • Tribal lace dresses are unusually ethereal and cool
