Life can be Cruel

Fashion

So Vetements’ much-anticipated collaboration Manolo Blahnik is finally here.

Ok…I’ve earned this.

It’s an investment.

Right, I’m going to do it.

No I’m not because it’s all bloody sold out.

Waterproof

Fashion

It’s STILL raining so I thought I would make this post weather relevant.

RAINS is a Danish rainwear company founded in 2012. It has made the traditional rubber raincoat much cooler offering a full line of waterproof outerwear, bags and accessories to the fashion conscious consumers who are not lucky enough to live in LA.

I have just ordered the baby blue number below…unfortunately it’s perfect for London life!

Inspired by both Scandinavian weather and design heritage, RAINS merge traditional methods with innovative techniques to create understated and considered rainwear made to last beyond the season.

Oh what to wear??

Some options I like which are office friendly but feel special!

Velvet dress & lace skirt – Sandro (sandro-paris.com), Sequin dress – Zara (ww.zara.com/uk), off-the shoulder & gold silk dress – All Saints  (allsaints.com), floral dress and mini with bow – French Connection (frenchconnection.com).

East is East

I spent Sunday wondering around Brick Lane market and the quirky streets of Shoreditch. I was after some salt beef from Beigel but the queue was far too long so settled for an organic brunch at Trade (http://www.trade-made.co.uk) which turned out not be settling at all – the food was delicious.

Savage beauty – Alexander McQueen

Fashion

Last night I went to the Savage Beauty exhibition featuring Alexander McQueen’s most striking and pioneering designs at the V&A Museum.

The McQueen journey is truly extraordinary and will have surprises even for those familiar with his work. Each collection reflects his interpretation of polemic themes from centuries ago up and until today. England & Scotland, East & West, Nature & Humanity. His collections appear to get darker over time and reflect his genius as well as his tortured soul.

Materials he used include crocodile heads, impala horns, armadillo skin, an abundance of metals and a beautiful sea of chiffon and feathers.

Some sneaky photos I managed to take…

I LOVE my new NIKE dunk sky hi trainers.

It’s unusual to have both height and comfort.
